Procrastination is the practice of doing pleasurable things instead of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. You need to take action if this becomes a daily occurrence; because unfulfilled tasks are distractions that interfere with our ability to be productive individuals.

Here are 5 tips to maximize your productivity whether or not you’re renting an office or seat leasing in Cebu:

1. Make a To-Do List

Every day comes with new tasks to accomplish and you can make it easy for yourself by listing all the things that you need to finish for the day.

One of the most satisfying practice when creating to-do lists is crossing off things when they are already done.

2. Complete Most Important Tasks First

Doing the simplest task in your to-do list makes you feel really productive because you get to cross off a lot of things. However, by the time you’re done with your less important tasks, you’re already exhausted and even more reluctant to start on your more important tasks.

Try to switch things up and complete the most important tasks first. Once you’re done, you can effortlessly accomplish the remaining tasks because they’re the easy ones.

3. Stop Multitasking

Research says that humans can’t physically multitask. Your brain gives you the illusion that, when you give attention from one task to the other, you’re already multitasking.  However, if you try to do so many things at the same time, you tend to lower its quality or standard. It seems like you’re just doing it for the sake of finishing it without considering the quality of your work.  Also, multitasking could take more time compared with simply focusing on one task at a time.

You might be thinking that the ability to multitask increases your efficiency, but it does not. It would be better if you make a habit of committing to a single task before moving on to your next task.

4. Hide or Uninstall Social Media Apps

It’s time for you to disconnect from your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media apps that have nothing to do with your work right now. According to research conducted by Ipsos Open Thinking Exchange, the average person spends 3.6 hours per day socializing online. Just imagine how productive you could be with that much time.

Stop wasting your time reacting to pictures on Facebook, checking updates on Twitter, thinking what Instagram story to post, and watching viral videos on YouTube. Instead, focus on your work and be productive.

5. Enjoy!

The line “If you love what you’re doing, you’ll never get tired of it” may sound cliché, but it’s true. There may be times that you get so caught up in busyness that you forget to enjoy what you’re doing because you’re too focused on getting things done.

However, that should never be the point. The goal should be to arrange your commitments in a way that you’re happy living out the details of your daily life even while you’re working because that could also increase your productivity.
